South Lyon & Lyon TownshipA straight run down Pontiac Trail from the Brighton shop. All makes and models, deck-set and built-in tub experience, and a real diagnosis before a single part gets quoted.
The shop sits at 8160 W Grand River Ave in Brighton, and South Lyon is roughly sixteen miles southeast, an easy run down US‑23 and Pontiac Trail or across Ten Mile. That keeps the whole area inside the standard service radius, so the service call is the same $185 it is in Brighton and there is no distance surcharge on top. The truck arrives carrying the parts that fail most often, which is the difference between one visit and two.
We cover downtown South Lyon and the neighborhoods around it, the newer subdivisions through Lyon Township and out toward New Hudson, the Green Oak Township stretch back toward Brighton, and the properties along Eight Mile on the Salem Township line.
A lot of South Lyon housing went up in the last twenty five years, and spas here are far more likely to be part of the landscaping than sitting free on a pad. Recessed into a deck, wrapped in composite skirting, set into a paver surround. It looks better, and it changes how service works in ways worth knowing before anything breaks:
Most of South Lyon is on city water, often run through a softener, and that flips the water problem we see out on Livingston County wells. Hard well water scales heaters. Softened municipal water tends the opposite way: very low calcium, which foams easily and is aggressive toward heater elements, seals and jet fittings in its own right. A tub filled entirely through a softener is not doing its equipment a favor.
The fix costs almost nothing: test calcium hardness at every refill rather than only chlorine and pH, and raise it into range when the fill water comes in low. If your water leaves the shell squeaky and the surface foams with the jets on, that is usually the sign. We check it as part of any visit and will tell you what your specific fill water actually needs, which takes two minutes and is not an upsell.
Houses turn over steadily here, and a good share of our South Lyon calls start the same way: the spa conveyed with the sale, the previous owner left no manual, and nobody knows when the filter was last changed or what that error code means. That is a normal way to inherit a hot tub and a bad way to run one long term.
One service visit sorts it. We identify the make and model, go through the pack end to end, flag anything the previous owner deferred, set the water up properly and show you the five minute routine that keeps it healthy. From there it is just a hot tub, not a mystery bolted to your deck.
Tell us what the tub is doing and what the panel says. A good share of the time we can tell you over the phone whether it is something you can fix in ten minutes and save you the service call entirely. If it needs a technician, the $185 covers the trip and the diagnosis, and you hear the actual fault and the cost before anything is replaced. If a part has to be ordered, you know that on day one along with the timeline.
Try the symptom checker or the error code index first. Both are free and neither tries to book you.
Beyond repair we handle scheduled maintenance and water care and moving and removal , including the built-in installs that need more planning than muscle. We also cover neighbouring Northville , Milford and Howell . Newer service pages cover New Hudson and Wixom as well.
Same $185 service call, same all-makes coverage, no distance surcharge inside the radius.
One call, one honest answer, and either a fix you can do yourself or a technician who already knows what he is walking into.
