Wixom & the Loon Lake corridorBought the house, got the hot tub, know nothing about it. That is a normal call here, and the first job is telling you exactly what you own.
Wixom is about seventeen miles from our shop at 8160 W Grand River Ave in Brighton, out I-96. We cover the city, the Loon Lake and Potter Lake edges, the Wixom Road and Pontiac Trail corridors, and the boundaries with Commerce Township, Walled Lake, Novi and New Hudson — all of which we serve. The service call is $185 for the trip and the diagnosis, with no distance surcharge.
Wixom's housing turns over. Subdivisions built in the eighties and nineties have changed hands two or three times, and hot tubs rarely move with the sellers. So a large share of our calls here start the same way: somebody owns a spa they did not choose, did not install and know nothing about, and it has just done something they cannot interpret.
There is usually no manual, the cabinet badge may be missing or may belong to a company that no longer exists, and the previous owner's advice was a shrug at closing. None of that stops a diagnosis.
The question behind most inherited-tub calls is not really what is broken. It is whether the thing is worth keeping at all. Three parts decide that. A cracked or delaminating shell is the real write-off. Packs, heaters, pumps and sensors are replaceable and usually worth replacing. Plumbing that has frozen and been patched more than once is the one that quietly drains money for years.
We will tell you which of those you have before the work starts, not after. If the answer is that it is finished, we sell refurbished hot tubs and we handle removal, so there is a route out that does not involve a spa sitting empty on a deck for two years.
Electrical work on a spa circuit is licensed work in Michigan and Dr. Spa does not do it. On an inherited tub the circuit is another unknown you did not choose, so this matters: we diagnose everything on the spa side of the disconnect and tell you plainly whether the fault is in the tub or in the wiring feeding it. If it is the wiring, you get exactly what to ask a licensed electrician for.
Tell us what the tub is doing and what the panel says. A good share of the time we can tell you over the phone whether it is something you can fix in ten minutes and save you the service call entirely. If it needs a technician, the $185 covers the trip and the diagnosis, and you hear the actual fault and the cost before anything is replaced. If a part has to be ordered, you know that on day one along with the timeline.
Try the symptom checker or the error code index first. Both are free and neither tries to book you.
Beyond repair we handle scheduled maintenance and water care and moving and removal . On a tub you inherited, the first maintenance visit doubles as a survey: what it is, what condition it is in, and what it will realistically need next. We also cover neighbouring New Hudson and Commerce Township .
Same $185 service call, same all-makes coverage, no distance surcharge inside the radius.
One call, one honest answer, and either a fix you can do yourself or a technician who already knows what he is walking into.
