Highland & Highland Township

Hot tub repair
in Highland.

Big lots mean tubs a long way from the panel, and that changes what a tripping breaker usually means. We diagnose the spa side properly before anyone blames the tub.

Fourteen miles east, along M-59

Highland is about fourteen miles from our shop at 8160 W Grand River Ave in Brighton, straight out M-59. We cover Highland Township, the village, the Duck Lake and Highland Recreation Area edges, and the stretch back toward Milford, which we also serve. Service call is $185, no distance surcharge.

Big lots, and tubs a long way from the panel

Highland has more space per house than most of our service area, and people use it. Tubs go on the far corner of a deck, on a pad by the treeline, beside a pool house — anywhere but bolted to the back wall. It is a much nicer way to own a hot tub, and it changes the shape of the most common electrical complaint we hear.

When a tub sits close to the panel, a tripping breaker has few places to hide. When there is a long run, a disconnect box out in the weather and a stretch of buried or exposed conduit between the two, a trip has three plausible homes: the tub, the run, or the breaker. People almost always assume the tub, and it is not always the tub.

  • Moisture is the usual suspect, and it does not care which end of the circuit it got into.
  • Intermittent trips are early faults, not quirks. They get worse on their own schedule.
  • Repeated resetting is the one thing not to do. A GFCI that trips is doing its job.

Where we stop, and why that helps you here

Electrical work on a spa circuit is licensed work in Michigan and Dr. Spa does not do it. On a Highland-style install that boundary is worth more than it sounds. We test everything on the spa side of the disconnect — heater, pumps, sensors, pack, bonding at the tub — and tell you clearly whether the fault is inside the spa or somewhere out on the circuit. If it is the circuit, you get a specific description of what to have a licensed electrician look at instead of a shrug and a bill. You pay one trade for the part they are actually qualified to fix.

Exposure, and what winter does out here

A tub away from the house is also a tub away from the eye. Cabinet doors that were not latched properly, an equipment bay that has been quietly wet since autumn, a cover that has taken on water and is no longer insulating: none of that gets noticed on a walk past, because there is no walk past. Most of what we find on the far side of a Highland yard would have been a five-minute fix six months earlier.

What we get called to Highland for

  • Breaker and GFCI trips. Diagnosed properly, spa side first, so the right trade gets called.
  • No heat. Heater elements and high-limit sensors, the most common single fault we see anywhere.
  • Waterlogged covers and wet bays. Cheap to fix early, expensive to ignore through a winter.

How the visit runs

Tell us what the tub is doing and what the panel says. A good share of the time we can tell you over the phone whether it is something you can fix in ten minutes and save you the service call entirely. If it needs a technician, the $185 covers the trip and the diagnosis, and you hear the actual fault and the cost before anything is replaced. If a part has to be ordered, you know that on day one along with the timeline.

Try the symptom checker or the error code index first. Both are free and neither tries to book you.

Also available in Highland

Beyond repair we handle scheduled maintenance and water care and moving and removal . A tub sited away from the house gets checked less often simply because nobody walks past it, which is the argument for putting a date in the calendar instead of waiting for a fault. We also cover neighbouring Milford and Hartland .

Same $185 service call, same all-makes coverage, no distance surcharge inside the radius.
