Waterford & White Lake

Hot tub repair
in Waterford.

The densest run of lakes in Oakland County, and a lot of spas that went in during the eighties and nineties. Older installs are our normal work, not an exception.

Nineteen miles northeast, into the lakes

Waterford sits about nineteen miles northeast of our shop at 8160 W Grand River Ave in Brighton. We cover Waterford Township, White Lake, Union Lake and the chain around them, and the stretch back toward Highland and Commerce, both of which have their own pages. Service call is $185 with no distance surcharge.

This is the far side of our radius rather than the middle of it, and we would rather say so than pretend otherwise. What that means practically is that a Waterford booking benefits from a proper phone conversation first, so the right parts are on the truck.

Lakefront density, and what it does to a spa

There is no part of our service area with more waterfront per square mile, and the spas here reflect it. A great many went in during the 1980s and 1990s, on decks built out toward the water, and they have been running ever since.

  • Boxed-in equipment bays. Deck-set tubs look excellent and leave the pump, heater and pack reachable from one cramped side. Every repair happens in that bay, so access is worth describing before we book.
  • Permanently damp compartments. Waterfront humidity plus an enclosed bay means components live wet. Heaters, pumps and boards all fail earlier for it, and the brand usually gets blamed.
  • Long-serving everything. Original heaters, first-generation topside panels, control packs that have done three decades. Most of it is replaceable. Age alone is not a verdict.

Old tubs, old circuits

A spa that went in thirty years ago is usually fed by a GFCI breaker of the same vintage, and that matters more than the tub's age does. Intermittent tripping on an install like this is a developing fault, not a quirk, and it can sit on either side of the disconnect.

Electrical work on a spa circuit is licensed work in Michigan and Dr. Spa does not do it. What we do is test everything on the spa side — heater, pumps, sensors, harness, pack and bonding at the tub — and tell you plainly whether the leak is in the spa or out on the circuit. If it is the circuit, you get a specific description of what to have a licensed electrician look at. There is more on the breaker page .

What we get called to Waterford for

  • No heat on long-serving heaters. Elements and high limits at the end of a genuinely long working life.
  • Breaker trips on older installs. Diagnosed spa-side first so the right trade gets called.
  • Wet bays and early component failure. Cheap to catch, expensive to ignore through a winter.

How the visit runs

Tell us what the tub is doing and what the panel says. A good share of the time we can tell you over the phone whether it is something you can fix in ten minutes and save you the service call entirely. If it needs a technician, the $185 covers the trip and the diagnosis, and you hear the actual fault and the cost before anything is replaced. If a part has to be ordered, you know that on day one along with the timeline.

Try the symptom checker or the error code index first. Both are free and neither tries to book you.

Also available in Waterford

Beyond repair we handle scheduled maintenance and water care and moving and removal . On a lakefront deck where the equipment bay is boxed in, one scheduled look is worth several emergencies, because the parts that fail first are the ones you cannot see. We also cover neighbouring Commerce Township and Highland .

Same $185 service call, same all-makes coverage, no distance surcharge inside the radius.
