• The vault decides everything. A well-built vault with a proper hatch, drainage and room to work is a normal repair. A vault with a screwed-down deck board over it is a different job, and you should know which you own before you need us.
• Vaults hold water. Below grade, shaded and enclosed, they stay damp. Damp shortens the life of heaters, pump motors and boards, and the brand gets blamed for what the install did.
• Nobody looks in there. On a freestanding tub you notice a weep because you walk past the cabinet. In a vault the first sign is usually a failure.

Swim spas and dual-pack systems

Swim spas are common here and they are not simply bigger hot tubs. More pumps, more plumbing, often two heating zones and in many cases two control packs that have to agree with each other. When one zone heats and the other does not, that is frequently a communication or relay issue rather than a heater at all, and chasing the heater first wastes a visit.
