Moving & removal

Lifted, not
dragged.

Relocations across town, into a new build, or straight out of the yard. Drained, disconnected and moved the way a spa is supposed to be moved.

What we move

  • Relocations within a property, deck to patio, or around a build
  • Moves to a new address across the service area
  • Delivery and set in place for a tub you have bought privately
  • Removal and disposal of a tub that is finished
  • Reinstall and reconnection at the new spot

Why this is not a two friends and a dolly job

A hot tub is heavier than it looks, more fragile than it feels, and completely unforgiving of a bad angle. The shell is supported by the cabinet frame. Take that support away at the wrong point and the acrylic flexes, and a flexed shell cracks. A cracked shell is not a repair you make in a back yard, and it is the single most common way a perfectly good spa becomes scrap on a Saturday afternoon.

Then there is the plumbing. Every union, every jet body and every length of PVC inside that cabinet is rigid. Torque the frame and something in there gives, usually somewhere you will not find until the tub is refilled at the new address and the yard starts flooding.

How a move runs

Before the day

We need the rough dimensions, the access route at both ends, and whether power has already been disconnected. Gates, steps, slopes, overhanging branches and fence panels all decide what equipment comes on the truck. Sorting that in advance is what keeps a move a move instead of an argument.

On the day

  • Drained fully, including the lines rather than just the shell
  • Power disconnected properly at the spa end
  • Cover, lifter and steps removed and handled separately
  • Lifted onto proper equipment, never tipped onto a corner
  • Set level at the new spot, on a base that will hold the filled weight

After

Reconnection at the new address is electrical work, and electrical work on a spa circuit is licensed work in Michigan. {{ELECTRICAL_SCOPE}}

Removal and disposal

If the tub is done, it is done. A failed shell, a rotted cabinet or a repair that costs more than the spa is worth are all reasonable places to stop. Removal is usually faster and cheaper than people expect, and it clears the space in an afternoon instead of leaving a dead tub in the yard for another two summers.

Before you buy a used tub

Worth saying plainly, because we get called after the fact more than before it. A free hot tub on marketplace is only free until it is in your yard. If you want it looked at before you commit to moving it, ask. A short conversation about the age, the make and what it is currently doing has saved a lot of people a lot of money.
